How has the scholarship award enabled you to pursue your ambitions?
The scholarship has given me financial support to help pursue my research smoothly and network with students outside my field.
Why did you choose to study at Imperial?
I became fascinated by my current supervisor's research in the application of differential geometry to geophysical fluid dynamics during my MSc (also at Imperial) and wanted to continue research in this area. Additionally, I was attracted to the location of Imperial, lying at the heart of London with an exciting environment and diversity of culture.
What have you been up to on the programme so far?
So far I have been doing some background reading, learning new mathematics, taking courses inside and outside Imperial, teaching and giving feedback to undergraduate students as a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) and putting together research ideas based on previous work in the field. I will also be attending a conference and a summer school in geometric mechanics at the end of this month to broaden my mathematical horizon.
