How has the scholarship award enabled you to pursue your ambitions?

The scholarship has enabled me to work with the top researchers of the field. I have been able to learn from the experts here at Imperial as well as meet collaborators outside of the university. 

Why did you choose to study at Imperial?

I felt that to pursue my particular area of research this university would be best suited for me. The staff and students I had met prior to starting the programme gave me the impression that I could learn a lot during my time here as well as contribute my share. I continue to believe this now. The researchers here at Imperial are fantastic and my fellow PhD students energize and challenge me to do my best work.

What have you been up to on the programme so far?

Within my main research project, I have learned new mathematical methods and gained a better physical understanding of the problem. Attending conferences and giving talks has helped my understanding of the field and my place in it. Outside of my main research project, I have help run the SIAM Student Chapter at Imperial and have helped to cofound and run the Maths Helpdesk. I have also attended courses on mathematics outside my line of research, which has added a breadth to my intellectual development.
