Civil engineers design, build and maintain the foundations of our world – from airports to energy systems, clean drinking water to a cleaner environment. If you study civil engineering with us, you’ll learn from pioneering researchers and have access to state-of-the-art facilities including a range of testing rigs, tension and compression machines, and wave generators and tanks. Join us to hear more about our courses, which include the option to study abroad.

As medical treatments evolve, they depend increasingly on advances in medical biosciences. Our courses look at the critical challenges facing human health, giving you the skills to become one of tomorrow’s leading scientists. Join this session to hear more about our medical bioscience courses, which include the option to specialise in areas like pharmacology or neuroscience, or to spend a year studying management at Imperial College Business School.

19 July

Design engineers are problem solvers who bridge the gap between traditional engineering and design, to create things that are new, innovative and useful. By studying design engineering at Imperial, you’ll have access to world-leading facilities including hackspaces and workshops, design studios and laboratories, presentation spaces and networking areas. Join this session to hear about this four-year course, which includes the option to carry out a paid six-month placement in industry.

Materials form the basis of modern life – from clothes, phones, cars, computers and buildings to more advanced technologies like biomedical devices or satellite communications. By studying materials at Imperial, you’ll gain skills in designing and improving materials to solve real-world problems, involving physics, biology, mathematics, chemistry and more. If you’re looking for a course with variety, this could be the one for you. Join this session to find out more about studying materials at Imperial.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel this Virtual Open Day session. We hope to reschedule it for a future date and will publish further details on our events pages. Please do contact opendays@imperial.ac.uk if you have any questions.

Join this session to hear more about studying medicine and to hear from current students and staff.

25 July

Electricity powers almost every tool we use in our lives. By studying electronic and electrical engineering, you’ll learn about electrical processes and how to apply them, to find solutions to problems we haven’t even imagined yet. You’ll design and build more efficient, affordable technology – from smartphones to driverless cars – to help us live better, smarter and more sustainably. Join this session to find out more about our courses, which include the option to complete an integrated six-month industrial placement.

26 July

The study of earth science and engineering is out of this world. By studying with us you’ll gain skills in understanding the processes that have shaped the Earth, other planets in our Solar System and beyond. Join this session to learn more about our hands-on courses (which have the option to take part in fieldwork across UK and Europe), and our outstanding facilities.

Computing is the understanding of computer systems, giving you the skills to design and build the next generation of computing applications. By understanding what’s happening today, you’ll learn how to adapt to what comes tomorrow. Join us to find out more about our computing courses, which include options to specialise in visual computing and robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, software engineering and much more.
