Volunteering
Why volunteer?
I have done many great things over this year and volunteering is definitely one of the highlights."

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community – whether at home or abroad.
You will develop a portfolio of skills that could open up new career paths in areas you may never have considered.
We offer lots of ways for you to do something different with your spare time and our students have a strong record for making a difference both locally and globally.
Volunteering opportunities
Access hundreds of volunteering opportunities, from tutoring in schools to community-based projects through Imperial College Union.
You can even gain formal recognition of your development through Emerging Leaders.
Here you can develop your essential skills and leadership through face-to-face workshops, online learning, events and personalised feedback.
At the end, you will obtain official recognition of your achievements from the Imperial College Union and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
One-off and short-term volunteering
If you can't commit to regular volunteering there are opportunities for you. These can be found through ongoing projects and volunteering student societies.
Professional Project Fund
This programme offers you a chance to deliver a project through a short internship which can take place in the UK not-for-profit sector.
You will find and define your own project and then apply to the Imperial College Careers Service for a £1200 bursary for the project.
