This webinar provides an insight into how to make an impact through your doctoral research. At the beginning of your academic career it can seem too early to think about this but knowing how the system works and investing your time and energy wisely can really pay dividends. The series includes an introduction to the concepts of academic, economic and societal impact, including a discussion of the UK Higher Education system and how you can make an impact within your own research projects.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this workshop you will be able to: 

  • Identify what is meant by impact and why it matters 
  • Recognise a range of impact activities involving diverse stakeholders 
  • Recognise the wider impact agenda 
  • Evaluate its importance to institutions such as Imperial
