In this highly interactive course we will explore the characteristics of scientific writing and explore some strategies to enhance your ability to write critically through group discussions and activities.
Course Information
In preparation for this course you will be asked to prepare a short abstract of your research project, which you will use during the course (duration: about 15 minutes).
- You will receive the credit by participating in all pre-course and course activities.
- This course contains basic strategies to improve your scientific writing (e.g. how to structure a piece of scientific writing).
- This course does not cover grammar.
- You are required to have a headphone set with microphone to interact with the group.

- Identify the characteristics of a piece of academic writing
- Recognise what steps to take to be effective in writing
- Employ techniques for being effective in writing
- Assess the quality of your writing
