Student Services

Who are we?

Student Services is made up of a range of specialist student facing support services, including Careers, the Chaplaincy, the Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service, the Disability Advisory Service and the Sexual Violence Liaison Team.  

The Office of the Director of Student Services has responsibility for the overall strategic delivery of student support services at Imperial.

    Hannah's role

    As Director of Student Services, Hannah has overall responsiblity for strategic delivery of student support initiatives at Imperial. She works closely with the College's Senior Leadership Team and Service Leaders to ensure that student wellbeing is at the heart of the College's mission.

    Nicola's role

    As Deputy Director of Student Services, Nicola supports the strategic planning and delivery of key initiatives in Student Services, with particular responsibility for pastoral support in residences, complex student casework and related safeguarding concerns. As well as management of a team overseeing other student support initiatives, including Report and Support.

    Jess Key Executive Assistant to Director of Student Services

    Jess's role

    As Executive Assistant to the Director of Student Services, Jess is responsible for managing the operations of the Director's Office. She works closely with the Counselling and Mental Health Service, Careers, and Disability Advisory Service to facilitate a close working relationship with the Director's Office.

    Anna Dodridge Project Officer (Report and Support)

    Anna's role

    As Project Officer (Report & Support), Anna is responsible for our work to tackle sexual violence, harassment and bullying through prevention, education, intervention and access to support. She supports our Sexual Violence Liaison Officers and Student Harassment Support Contact teams, and provides learning opportunities for staff and students involved in providing support and information to students in this area.

    Shervin Sabeghi Strategic Projects Manager

    Shervin's role

    As the Strategic Projects Manager, Shervin is responsible for managing projects relating to student support and the student experience. He coordinates the delivery of Welcome Season, is the Student Services communication lead and maintains and develops the Student Support Zone. He also supports our Hall Wardens in their pastoral care roles.

Whether you’re a first year undergraduate or finishing your doctoral thesis, the Careers Service has tailored support for your needs. They offer:

• Careers events throughout the academic year
• Support for disabled students
• A wide range of online resources to support your career development
• Support for Imperial alumni up to 3 years after graduation

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy welcomes all students and staff of the College, of any faith or none. The team of Chaplains and faith advisers offer many services, including mindfulness sessions, personal development coaching and one-to-one confidential support in times of crisis, stress or uncertainty.

In addition to a multi-faith prayer space, the Chaplaincy has quiet spaces available for you to drop-in or book - a useful space if you want some time away from our busy campus.

Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service

The Student Counselling Service is a free and confidential self-referral service available to all registered students. You can arrange a therapeutic consultation with a qualified and experienced counsellor to discuss your difficulties in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. You will be able to discuss whether counselling might be helpful and what other sources of support might be appropriate.

The Service also provides mental health advice and support for students with moderate to severe or enduring mental health difficulties.

Disability Advisory Service

The Disability Advisory Service provides individually tailored support for all Imperial students who have a disability or specific learning difference. The Service also offers advice to students who think they may have a disability or specific learning difference and are seeking an assessment. The Service offers support for:

• Specific learning differences
• Enduring mental health or health conditions
• Autism spectrum conditions
• Sensory and physical impairments

Sexual Violence Support
