Student Programme Partner: Research Communication

My Research: I work on the development of cement-free concrete which also incorporates recycled rubber as replacement for natural aggregates.

Why I applied for this particular SPP role: I am interested in research communication, both oral and written, and hence the reason I applied to be a Partner for Research Communication. I feel that being close to the modules given by the Graduate School and assisting in their delivery is a good way to improve one’s research communication skills.

Why I think professional development training is important: For research in any field to be effective and of influence, it requires good communication. Professional development training could help researchers hone such skills and make bigger impact from their discoveries.
