This interactive course is designed to give you as postgraduate representatives the opportunity to discuss and explore postgraduate concerns related to well-being. Invited postgraduate reps and tutors will share their experience and we discuss possible solutions for issues and support for postgraduates. We also review good practice and signpost resources to assist you to use an informed and experience-based approach when working with postgraduate students.

Most of this course is discussion based and is recommended by Faculties for postgraduate representatives who wish to know more about how well-being may impact their roles. It is credit bearing for doctoral students.

Course Information

You will need to dedicate a total time of ~2 hours to complete this course, which includes ~30 minutes preparatory asynchronous activities carried out via Blackboard. There is a lot of material to explore via the Course Notes and links on Blackboard after the live course, and optional follow ups are available.

At the end of this course and with preparatory and post-course materials, you will be better able to:

  • Explore concerns of postgraduate taught (PGT) and research (PGR) students
  • Review situations to find appropriate solutions
  • Apply an informed and experience-based approach to help your peers
