The EDU offers a broad spectrum provision that provides a needs-based and timely approach to the educational development of everyone who teaches Imperial students. We offer training based on your own experience and a range of workshops to help you develop your skills.

Our ‘introduction to’ workshops are intended as basic introductions to important aspects of teaching and learning in an Imperial context. They have been designed with new probationary lecturers and teaching staff in mind but may also be of interest to other College staff.

Our ‘practical guide’ series of workshops consists of short, pragmatic workshops covering key practical aspects of teaching and learning. These sessions are designed to be of help in your day-to-day teaching practice and cover a wide range of topics.

The 'focus on' series of workshops examines teaching and learning in greater depth and is designed for those with greater teaching experience and wider College responsibilities. These workshops build on the previous series and cover the topics in more depth.

With support from the Faculty of Medicine, the EDU is able to offer a workshop strand catered to those Imperial and NHS staff who teach Imperial College undergraduate medical students. The workshops are generally free of charge and normally carry CPD approval from the Royal College of Physicians.

We offer a range of taught programmes that provide an opportunity to study in a way that is centred on actual practice and takes account of both disciplinary and institutional context. Flexible study designed to meet the needs of busy staff.

Applications are now open for our PG Cert in University Learning and Teaching. The Postgraduate Certificate in ULT is a practice-centred flexible course that develops participants as reflective practitioners and builds on the introductory workshops and participants’ previous experience.

The Postgraduate Diploma in ULT is practice-based, but allows and encourages participants to expand their knowledge of teaching beyond their actual experience through critical engagement with wider educational theory

The Master's in Education in ULT provides training and support in education research methodology and allows participants to investigate and inform their practice with valid educational enquiry

The Supporting Learning and Teaching Pathway (SLTP) has been designed to meet the needs of the significant number of College staff whose job involves supporting learners but who are not part of the full-time academic staff
