BMJ
Imperial is participating in Jisc’s ‘publish and read’ agreement with BMJ 2023-24 which covers open access fees for Imperial corresponding authors in any of the 28 hybrid journals of BMJ Standard Collection List 2023 (xls) for papers funded by UK Research and Innovation, British Heart Foundation, Blood Cancer UK, Cancer Research UK, Parkinsons UK, Versus Arthritis or the Wellcome Trust.
Original articles reporting on primary research are included. The following article types are excluded: abstract, article-commentary, book-review, brief-report, calendar case-report, correction, discussion, editorial, in-brief, letter, news, obituary, other, product-review, rapid-communication, reply, retraction, review-article, supplement, unknown-article-type.
The agreement runs from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024.
When submitting the article through BMJ’s submission system, you will need to verify your Imperial affiliation. Subject to an eligibility check by the open access team, the cost will then be covered via the agreement at acceptance, and your article published open access with a CC BY license.
Papers with an Imperial corresponding author but not eligible for this agreement will receive a 25% discount. Authors publishing in fully open access journals should apply to the Imperial Open Access Fund via Symplectic as normal.
If you have any questions regarding this agreement or the process please contact the open access team.
