UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC STAFF
DIRECTOR OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES, PROF CARL PATERSON
The DUGS heads the teaching team and leads the development and running of UG Teaching. He represents the Department on several Faculty and College committees, supplies much documentation for Registry and organises the Department’s accreditation and quality assurance procedures. With support from the Teaching Committee, he chooses lecturers for courses, demonstrators, Heads of Lab and other activities and manages a large annual budget paying for three teaching laboratories, three lecture theatres and the Computing Suite.
SENIOR TUTOR, Dr Sebastien Guenneau
The Senior Tutor has responsibility for course advice and student welfare, handling many student matters both personal and collective. He deals with many mitigating circumstances and confidential matters, and frequently writes letters of reference. As a permanent member of the Staff/Student Committee, he is a major route for student opinion to be put into effect.

STUDENT LIAISON OFFICER, DR YASMIN ANDREW
The Student Liaison Officer acts as one of the main points of contact for undergraduate students, providing them with support and advice on academic issues and course engagement. She is responsible for efficient communication between the student body and teaching staff and is a member of the staff-student committee. The Student Liaison Officer is also responsible for the recommendation and implementation of innovative and effective physics teaching and learning strategies through the department’s teaching committee, to provide successful learning experiences for students and sustain their academic success. DISABILITIES LIAISON OFFICER, MERY FAJARDO
The Disabilities Liaison Officer manages the academic needs of our students with different types of difficulties. She acts as the first point of contact within the department for disabled students and those who have specific learning difficulties. She liaises with the Disability Advisory Service to provide support and applies for Additional Examination Arrangements.

The UG Admin Office has contact with students, academic and other staff, and the general public. They receive and process reports and problem sheets which are submitted to a deadline. They are responsible for providing administrative support for undergraduate teaching in the Department. In the absence of a formal reception facility in the department, they regularly deal with enquiries from the general public in person and over the phone. They act as minute secretaries to the Teaching Committee and the Staff/Student Committee.
UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION MANAGER, DERRYCK STEWART
The UG Education Manager's chief task is to ensure the successful implementation of teaching requirements in the Department, and has frequent contact with staff and students on a wide variety of issues. He is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient coordination of all undergraduate degrees and modules. He manages the undergraduate electives process and is the lead Physics administrator for Starfish, the College’s student case management software.
He is a long-standing member of the College’s three main timetabling committees; TUGS, ETUG and TSEG. He is also a member of the college's Regulations and Policy Review Committee (RPRC).

The Admissions Tutor is responsible for analysing UCAS forms and liaising with the Deputy Admissions Tutor to take final decisions about all the applicants who apply to Physics.

The Exams Co-ordinator has academic oversight of the whole examinations procedure, processing marks, ensuring appropriate weightings are applied and aggregate marks correctly recorded.
EXAMINATIONS AND INFORMATION OFFICER, Victor Urubusi
The Examinations and Information Officer has day-to-day management of the examinations process, bringing together exam materials, arranging exam sessions and co-ordinating marking. He also manages the student database and co-ordinates teaching materials for the website and Admin Office.
