The 4 year PhD Programme

Year 1 of the Programme allows students to experience different scientific discliplines and to get a feel for where their interests lie. Students undertake three consecutive laboratory projects, one in each School, and also have dedicated teaching sessions. They then choose their PhD project which they undertake in a research group for years 2-4. All students on the programme take part in an annual symposium in which they have an opportunity to present their work.
