Tim qualified as a diagnostic radiographer in 1991, before specialising in nuclear medicine and working in a cardiothoracic hospital. He left the NHS to set up an equine nuclear medicine facility in Newmarket and then later became a clinical research radiographer in PET and MRI in neurosciences in Cambridge. In 2002 he was appointed as a lecturer at the University of Cumbria, and undertook a PhD at Lancaster University in medical image perception. He is currently an Associate Professor involved in several research projects including the setting up of an EPSRC funded Digital Health Hub for NortHFutures in the North East and North Cumbria.
