Immunology and Inflammation at Imperial
The Department of Immunology and Inflammation brings together a diverse group of clinical and non-clinical experts who study the causes and mechanisms of organ damage in a range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Key research areas include autoimmunity, complement, macrophage biology, tumour immunology, vascular inflammation, skin immunology, vaccine responses and renal pathology. Our methodologies range from in vitro approaches; in vivo modelling of inflammation and autoimmunity; clinical trials and systems biology. Clinically we have expertise in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus; C3 glomerulopathy; Glomerulonephritis, Diabetic nephropathy, Chronic kidney disease, Renal Pathology, Renal Transplantation, Chronic Granulomatous Disease and Vasculitis.
