Hands-on Data Analysis for Metabolic Profiling
Course lead
Professor Tim Ebbels
Reader in Computational Bioinformatics
To fully benefit from this course, attendees will ideally have a basic knowledge of analytic chemistry techniques.
This 5 day course provides a comprehensive overview of data analysis for metabolic profiling studies with data acquired from NMR spectroscopy and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. It combines lectures and tutorial sessions to ensure a thorough understanding of the theory and practical applications.
Day 1
Introductory lectures on NMR and LC-MS
Day 2
Lectures and tutorials covering pre-processing metabolomic NMR and LC-MS data
Day 3
Lectures and tutorials covering study design, univariate statistics and exploratory multivariate statistics including PCA
Day 4
Advanced multivariate statistical techniques such as PLS and Orthogonal PLS, including tips and tricks for data analysis
Day 5
Metabolite identification with LCMS and NMR data and pathway analysis with metabolite data.
