Two people talk in front of poster

The biennial NHLI Postdoc Day is an event specifically tailored to the needs of the department’s postdocs. It gives our postdocs an opportunity to explore their career options and focus on their career progression as well as to network with other NHLI postdocs. In the past the day has featured career talks by both new academics and previous postdocs who have chosen to move away from academia. Previous Postdoc Days have included talks by a recently appointed NHLI lecturer (Leo Carlin), a science journalist (Anjana Ahuja) and a Teach First representative (Ollie Longworth), among others.

The last NHLI Postdoc Day was held on 13 October 2021. It included a Q&A session with Head of Department, Professor Edwin Chilvers, talks from academics, research fellows and teaching fellows on their career journeys and presentations from individuals with experience of working in industry, the public sector and funding bodies.
