Economics and Finance
Economics underpins many of the ways that human society views the earth’s resources and the ‘natural capital’ that our environment provides us, and the financial value that decision-makers place on environmental protection can influence behaviour at the individual and company level. Research investigates the impact of sustainable investment, financial incentives for societal change, and the effect that policies like carbon taxes or emission trading schemes on emissions, energy efficiency, innovation, competitiveness and performance.
