MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Management

Imperial is a fantastic location – close to diverse people and a lot of companies.  There’s a real commercial outlook on our studies here and great contacts with industry for internships and placements.  What’s very impressive is how student feedback can help develop the courses – for example we’ve helped introduce industrial placements in finance. I switched to the management stream in the second year as a result of our group project on communications in remote communities.  We had a great technical solution, but what was most useful was the ability to sell it to our external sponsors – applying business knowledge and communication and presentation skills – extremely important to a future career in engineering.

Giri’s advice

I’ve really enjoyed the parts of the course where we have the freedom to do things ourselves – take an engineering problem, find your own solutions and take some risks.
