Skills and Capabilities for Circular Economy

Abstract
Companies report the lack of ‘skills and capabilities’ as one of the biggest barriers for the net-zero transition. Yet, little systematic knowledge exists to guide policymakers, educators and firms on  which firm capabilities and labour skills are essential for the net-zero transition. As a central part of this transition, Circular Economy provides  unique pathways to address the emission targets if firm capabilities and labour skills can be aligned with the main CE principles. Such alignment has additional benefits for ensuring the resilience and productivity of firms in a changing environment dominated by technological change.
