Our masterclasses have been designed to help you develop the necessary skills to create and deliver inclusive,  meaningful and enjoyable engagement activities for you and your target public audiences.   

These masterclasses are open to all Imperial staff and research degree students, including postgraduate research masters students.

Core Engagement Masterclass

For staff members and doctoral students with little or no prior experience of public engagement, this session covers the key steps in planning and evaluating your own engagement activities to maximise your research impact.

This interactive session will enable you to build on your learnings from the core masterclass. You will practise techniques for effective communication and messaging about your research and other scientific content, as well as tailoring to different public audiences.

This workshop will enable you to recognise engagement as a route to impact, how to evidence it and what funders in the UK are looking for around public engagement with research.

This masterclass will give you the opportunity to explore the benefits of engaging the public in participatory research, when it is appropriate to take this approach with your engagement and the key considerations for you and your audience.
