Attending summer school is a great way to discover what it is like to study at Imperial and what life is like as a student in London. 

About our summer schools

We provide courses for both UK students and students from all over the world. 

Applications for summer schools 2022 for UK students are now closed.

Please be aware that summer schools are currently being organised to run in-person but may need to take place online. Successful applicants will be informed when a decision is made through our application portal in spring 2022.

For UK students

Year 9 Girls Engineering Summer School

Year 9 girls are invited to join us to explore the breadth of engineering disciplines available at Imperial. You'll work in groups and use your knowledge to explore and tackle real-world challenges, presenting a concept at the end of the programme.

Year 10 Insights into Science and Engineering Summer School

You'll attend lots of taster sessions from different areas of science and engineering and take part in hands-on activities that will not only broaden your knowledge of biology, chemistry, maths and physics, but also bring them to life.

Year 11 Online STEM Challenge

You'll work in a small team to solve current world problems, using your knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and present your ideas to a panel of judges.

Year 12 Sutton Trust Summer School

You'll choose from one of ten subject strands and take part in workshops where you'll cover first-year university content and develop skills you can use at university. You'll also experience a taste of university life during the day and evening.

Year 12 Work Experience Programme

You can apply to one of six of our departments for a one-week placement working alongside researchers in their laboratories. You'll also benefit from specialist talks on topics such as writing effective personal statements and interview skills.

Imperial College London Global Summer School

You'll attend a two–week programme, choosing a specialist area of science and engineering for your first week and undertake a challenge in week two, developing your problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills.
