Dr Abdullah Dafir Albeyatti

Abdullah (MBBS Medicine 2011) works as a GP. But he’s also CEO of Medicalchain, an award-winning tech company which uses blockchain technology to securely manage health records. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Abdullah and his team created MyClinic to provide patients around the world with safe, virtual access to medical advice.

Dr Anna Stejskalova

Dr Anna Stejskalová

Anna’s (PhD Bioengineering 2018) work on endometriosis, a condition affecting around 10% of women and with links to infertility, has created more systematic approaches to studying this disease. Her goal is to expand the knowledge of women’s health. The more we know, the more we can control our health decisions.

Dr Gabriele Messori

From heatwaves to heavy rain, Gabriele (PhD Atmospheric Physics and Dynamics 2013) is on a mission to educate others about climate extremes. This involves much more than publishing scientific papers. Gabriele inspires students at science festivals, teams up with other experts and partners with industry to develop prediction tools.

Dr Marily Nika

Dr Marily Nika

Marily (MSc Computing 2008, PhD 2014) works as a Speech AI Product Manager for Google in California. She turns AI & Machine Learning research into impactful products. She teaches Product Management at Harvard Business School’s Business Analytics Programme. She co-founded communities empowering women in tech and was named 2018’s ‘Woman of the Year’ at the FDM everywoman in Technology Awards.

Dr Reza Jarral

As a GP and humanitarian doctor, Reza (MBBS Medicine 2010) sees the struggles underrepresented groups face first-hand. To change patients’ lives, he knows he must tackle structural inequities in healthcare. Reza’s priorities include exploring the ethical use of artificial intelligence, democratising wellbeing using technology and creating the healthcare tools of tomorrow.
