Once you have completed your exams for a particular academic year, including any written work (e.g. dissertation), your work will be marked.
These marks will be considered at a Board of Examiners meeting, which will confirm your formal grades and, if you are a final year student, your overall degree classification.
These decisions are based on the mark scheme for your course, which is set by your department/division or course organiser. They will make you aware of this at the start of the course.
Once your results have been agreed they will be sent to the Registry, and will be uploaded onto your record.
You will receive an email when your results are available to view in the My Imperial student portal. We aim to release results within a week of receiving them from departments and course organisers, depending on when they are sent to us and how many other results we have to process.
If you are taking a part-time postgraduate degree, you may not receive any results until the end of your final year.
Please visit the Request an Official Document page for information on how to get formal confirmation of results or degree.
