Leading Self
Leading self is the first element of being an effective leader. Who are you as a person, how do you interact with others? From there, you can lead others and improve management in the organisation. Looking at yourself as a leader and expanding your self-awareness is essential to:
- Understanding your own work style, extending your strengths, and addressing the downsides
- Understanding how others experience you, and your impact on others
- Appreciating the alternative approaches of others with different preferences and the varied needs of those you work with
- Handling conflict better by appreciating that others might see things differently
- Understanding ways of increasing your resilience
