Once you have completed the course and for your training to be validated, you will need to take a short online test (link available at the end of the course) with a score of 75% or higher considered a pass.
You should take this course in conjunction with the Records Management e-Learning course and Information Security Awareness e-Learning course.

Overview

Imperial College must collect, store and process personal data to carry out its functions and activities. The College is a controller for most of the personal data it processes and is committed to full compliance with the applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

Staff must understand what personal and sensitive personal data (also known as special categories of data) are. Doing anything involving such data is subject to certain protections as set out in the GDPR.

Who should attend

The course is currently mandatory for all new starters at the College. All other staff members are strongly encouraged to complete the course and refresh their knowledge of data protection requirements periodically.
