Watch our video on how to access College services away from campus.

College services that are on the cloud can be accessed from anywhere and at any time, as long as you have an internet connection. Popular cloud services include your email, Office 365, Panopto and Blackboard.

Other College services and applications require a private secured network to access them when working away from campus, such as ICIS.

Unified Access is a single, easy way of accessing College resources whether you are on or off campus.

If you don’t have a college managed laptop or Unified Access, then the recommended way to access college services which require a private connection when working away from campus is to remotely access your college computer.

If you have not enabled Unified Access and are unable to remote access to a computer connected to the College network, then as a last resort, you can use the College’s Virtual Private Network. Please note that although ICT provides instructions for using VPN it is not recommended for a number of security reasons.

Some countries have higher levels of control of the internet which can impact access to certain services and software. Find out more about internet censorship. For those working remotely from China, we have a dedicated Guidance for those working from China web page with details on what you can and cannot access.
