All ICL staff are free to request bookings. Priority will be given to community projects either organised by ICL or by those contacts in the local area of Wood Lane, White City.  The availability of the space will depend on the venue’s staffing rosters, other programmed activity in the space on the day and surrounding days as well as the details of the event looking to be booked.

All bookings for the three spaces are moderated by the Venue Management team.  Contact Ian Johnson to discuss options, availability and to proceed to booking a room. 

Building access:

The meeting rooms within the Invention Rooms are in the Interaction Zone, accessible from the corner of Depot Road and Wood Lane, via Door C (Garden Entrance). The venue is open for programmed events and booked meetings only, outside of this, access to the venue is via Door B where special appointment to see the spaces is required.

For external attendees, the meeting organiser must email Ian Johnson with the meeting name, date/time and location, organiser contact details, list of external attendees and ensure that all attendees know to enter via the Door C, the garden entrance way at the corner of Depot Road and Wood Lane.

There will be a Duty Manager from the Visitor Experience team in the venue throughout the meeting. Meeting organisers are responsible for ensuring that the Duty Manager is aware of all aspects of the booking, and any deliveries made will need to be organised in advance to ensure receipt.

Invention Rooms G38

WCSH-G-G38 (20), open, moderated

  • Building access: Via the Interaction Zone. See access restrictions above. 
  • Catering is allowed in the room. This can be booked directly from Campus Services for internal bookings, a GL code will be needed for this. External catering/delivery is also welcome, please discuss with the Venue Management team prior to booking catering.
  • Facilities: Up to 20 seats for seating only, up to 12 seats for tabled seating, large LCD portable TV with HDMI connection, flip charts and pens.
  • This room is also used as an additional breakout space or catering areas for the larger G39 and G41 spaces.
Invention rooms G39

WCSH-G-G39 (50), open, moderated

  • Building access: Via the Interaction Zone. See access restrictions above. 
  • Catering is allowed in the room. This can be booked directly from Campus Services for internal bookings, a GL code will be needed for this. External catering/delivery is also welcome, please discuss with the Venue Management team prior to booking catering.
  • Facilities: Up to 65 seats for seating only, up to 40 seats for tabled seating, full AV rack with projector connected to ICL network PC, connection via HDMI, USB stick or direct log in to network files, additional Large LCD portable TV with HDMI connection, flip charts and pens.
  • Dependant on availability, able to be booked with G38 for break out or catering requirements.

Invention rooms (2)

WCSH-G-G41 (120), open, moderated

  • Room Contact: Ian Johnson, i.johnson@imperial.ac.uk
  • Booking Restrictions: Priority booking will be given to Community Team programming. Weekend availability is very limited due to the calendar of events in place. Bookings available Monday-Sunday, 09:00 to 22:00.
  • Building access: Via the garden access point, Stadium House Door C on the corner of Wood Lane and Depot Road.
  • Catering is allowed in the room. This can be booked directly from Campus Services for internal bookings, a GL code will be needed for this. External catering/delivery is also welcome, please discus with the Venue Management team prior to booking catering.
