PhD student, Department of Infectious Disease

"As a feminist I have always been inspired by great women’s work, especially scientists.  Throughout, my education I was very interested in the world of vaccines and have been lucky to be taught by Professor Helen Fletcher, where I learned about her great work on TB vaccines with Professor Helen McShane. Their fascinating work was such an inspiration of what women are capable of in STEM. Today, I am doing my PhD at imperial working on novel vaccine designs and new potential vaccine candidates for Pneumonia.

"I’m very grateful for choosing science as my field of studies. Science taught me to think with freedom, question with no fear, and believe that there is always a way for change and improvement.

"My advice to women in general is, don’t allow anyone to tell you who you must be or what you must do!  Believe in your dreams, empower yourself, and always look for your purpose with passion."
