“In my portrait, the big ‘B’ of the Business School stands out in the background. This reminds me of a trope often found in oriental landscape painting known as ‘tiny people in big places’, used to emphasise harmony with the natural world.

"It reminds me of the journey that I’ve chosen, and that no matter how small I might appear in picture, I am part of it – I am a part of the School, and in harmony with it. The Business School is like a landscape, reflecting a living synthesis of people and place.

“This idea helps me to appreciate my environment a bit more, and be grateful for what we have at hand, and what surrounds us. Good or bad, light or darkness, fullness or void – they each help us to develop a holistic perspective of the world around us.”
