The following modules from the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Healthcare Master’s programme are offered as stand-alone short courses:

This new and exciting programme takes students through a programme of learning that, through the core modules and individual choice of elective modules, will enable a deepening knowledge of cardiovascular and respiratory healthcare. The programme will use a blended learning approach to facilitate student learning and enable them to revisit issues in their own time and at their own pace.

The programme will be taught by an expert faculty and is aimed towards those from a variety of different healthcare backgrounds. The faculty will draw on their clinical and research experience at national and international level to ensure students are provided with an opportunity to engage with contemporary healthcare developments. The taught component will largely be delivered on the Royal Brompton Campus, thereby ensuring easy access to a faculty of clinical experts from the associated Royal Brompton Hospital.

Each short course includes a taught component which is combined with online learning, enabling our students to work flexibly around other commitments.

More information

The short courses aim to provide students with an opportunity to explore contemporary issues, and develop knowledge and skills in their chosen area in cardiovascular & respiratory healthcare.

The Cardiovascular and Respiratory Healthcare short courses are aimed at healthcare professionals and scientists who currently work or wish to work in a cardiovascular or respiratory setting.

Students have the option of completing the assessment component. Participants who have completed the assessment will be provided with an official Imperial College London transcript.

Please note that participants who later enrol in one of the departments postgraduate programmes in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Healthcare will be subject to the full tuition fee. Participants are however able to transfer a limited amount of CPD credits already gained within the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Healthcare programme, subject to meeting APEL regulations and only if the short course has been fully assessed.  Marks/credits for assessed work are not available for students for considerable time after the work has been submitted, as all marks have to be Board approved.

Should a participant wish to sit one or more of the assessments, registration must be made and payment received, before the start of the course module at the point of booking.

Results letters will be issued by NHLI. Certificates of attendance and official transcripts will be issued by the Centre for Continuing Professional Development and Registry. Certificates cannot be issued unless a student attends the whole course in person.
