Previous experience: No previous experience is necessary for this course. 

 

 

This course for absolute beginners focuses on the spoken Italian needed for everyday situations. On it you will acquire the essential skills that will allow you to speak, write and understand how the language works. Having learned how to perform a number of basic tasks, such as talking about oneself and others, buying food and drinks, asking for and giving directions, you will be able to extend your skills to other situations.

 

Every opportunity will be given to practise the spoken language in class in order to build up your confidence and encourage you to contribute creatively and express your opinions. Grammatical understanding is promoted through active examples and practice, enabling the you to build on your own knowledge independently.

 

Grammar will be introduced gently and in a logical way. Overall the teaching method is communicative with small group work opportunities and videos and other visual material will be used to encourage lively participation.
