Arabic language classes are a popular choice on the adult education evening class language programme at Imperial College London.

Arabic is one of the world's great languages, spoken globally as a first language by around 300 million people, and as a second language by an astonishing two billion people!

The reason why Arabic is a popular language to learn on the evening classes at Imperial College depends on who you are and on your motivation. You might be planning to visit or settle in an Arabic-speaking country on holiday, or do business with the Arabic-speaking world. Or maybe you are just fascinated by Arabic culture.

Whatever the reason, you will find Arabic is not only the language of government and trade for much of the Middle East and north Africa, it is also a language imbued with concepts from science, the arts and religion. And while we cannot guarantee, as Umar ibn Al-Khattab suggests, that learning Arabic will sharpen your wisdom, studying Arabic on one of our Arabic adult education evening classes will open the door to a fascinating global culture, the roots of which stretch back at least one and a half millennia.

Whether you are a beginner in learning Arabic, or you have some experience of speaking the language, the part-time Arabic courses we offer at Imperial College, including beginner Arabic classes for adults and more advanced classes for those with some experience of speaking Arabic, are designed to help you develop your language skills quickly and effectively.

The courses are taught in the evening, making them ideal as Arabic language courses for working professionals, but students on the Arabic language evening class come from many different backgrounds, from students and lecturers, to working people and retirees, as everyone is welcome.

The Imperial College Arabic language programme is designed to help you get the most from the experience of learning a language, in a friendly and supportive environment. Classes are taught by expert Arabic language tutors who have a great deal of experience delivering Arabic language courses for evening students, and they are the same tutors who deliver Arabic language courses to students on the highly regarded undergraduate programme at Imperial College London.
