Breakout Spaces

Looking for somewhere to safely collaborate whilst on campus?
A range of breakout spaces are available for students to use who are allowed to visit our campuses.
Currently, students should only be on campus if they are studying on a programme that has been allowed to return for in person teaching or if they are unable to study from home due to the facilities available or their domestic situation. View the full list of reasons when you can attend campus.
We recognise that certain teaching spaces are limited in capacity, so we have temporarily repurposed existing cafe or functional space into student-specific areas. Breakout Spaces are designed to allow you to have a place to collaborate and work together and are equipped with a range of seating and vending options. There's no need to book, just turn up and enjoy a place to work together whilst socially distancing.

Space rules
Breakout Spaces are designed to allow students to have additional areas to collaborate in. All existing safety measures on campus apply to these spaces, including the COVID-19 Code of Conduct. In order to keep everyone safe, we all have a responsibility to respect and protect each other and the Space Rules should be followed at all times:
- Always wear a face covering
- Follow the one-way system and signage
- Maintain 2 metres distance from each other
- Do not move furniture or seating
- Maintain good personal hygiene and wash your hands regularly
- After using a space, wipe down any surfaces or chairs
- Never exceed the maximum capacity of each space
- Scan and submit any Track & Trace QR codes
