Dr David Daniels
Chief Energy Modeler, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)
Since 2012, David has been the Chief Energy Modeler at EIA, where he works to ensure internal consistency across all of EIA’s energy models. Prior to EIA, Dr. Daniels served as the Chief Scientist of Digital Sandbox, a security analytics software company, where he developed the terrorism risk analysis methodology used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to allocate over $20B in funding since 2006. He has also worked as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, where he primarily acted as technical advisor on several DARPA programs, and for The Boston Consulting Group, a commercial strategy consulting firm. His academic background is in high energy particle physics, having earned his M.Sc. from Oxford and his Ph.D. from Harvard.
