Gas Innovations Fellowship Program
The Gas Innovation Fellowship programme (GIFP) was a collaborative programme between the University of São Paulo (USP), Imperial College London and Shell plc.
The programme was set up in 2014 with the aim of fostering co-operation between Brazil and the UK in the field of gas utilisation via the exchange of researchers and academics between institutions. It supported capability in Gas Futures training 20 Brazilian PhD students and five post-doctoral researchers to pursue collaborative research projects while enabling researcher mobility from Brazil to the UK.
The programme was approved by the Brazilian Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis – “ANP”).
GIFP was financially supported by Shell plc along with the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico – “CNPq”).
A number of PhD students and postdocs have completed the programme at Imperial College.
