Partnerships
Our mission is to contribute our knowledge and expertise to the decarbonisation of energy systems.
"Partnerships are key to solving and addressing our global energy challenges. At the Sustainable Gas Institute we provide an opportunity for organisations in the energy sector to work alongside our world-class research team at Imperial College. We are excited to be able to engage the full gas value chain in our partnership model, opening opportunities to answer the questions that really matter to stakeholders."
Professor Adam Hawkes, Director, Sustainable Gas Institute.
That means working with all sorts of organisations and partners from across a wide range of sectors. Sometimes that’s part of an academic research collaboration, such as the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre, sometimes it is with a mixed group of stakeholders in other countries, such as through the Climate Compatible Growth programme (CCG), and sometimes it is commercially commissioned research - such as our recent project with Italian energy infrastructure company SNAM.
As a research institute of Imperial College London, we take a diligent and pragmatic approach to who we work with. Our judgments are made based on the benefit our research insight can bring to project objectives, the contribution our expertise can make to the decarbonisation of energy supply, and the commitment of those we work with towards Net Zero and decarbonising their own industrial activities.
