Who can use the CRF?
Imperial-based researchers and staff
All researchers from Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust are welcome to apply to run a study within the CRF.
Commercial companies and external researchers
The Imperial CRF welcomes applications from external researchers and commercial companies. The sponsor company must identify a Principal Investigator within the Imperial College AHSC before the study may begin. Contact the CRF Senior Management Team if help is required.
Study acceptance criteria
If your study meets the following criteria you may apply:
General criteria
The Imperial CRF is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to support experimental medicine studies i.e. investigations in humans to identify the cause of disease and/or to test the validity and importance of new discoveries and treatments. This includes the following study categories:
- Phase 0
- Phase I
- Phase IIa
- Experimental medicine (non-trial)
- Non-drug interventions
- Biomarker
- Diagnostic
- Device
- Epidemiological
- Observational
- Screening
Clinical trials of investigational medicinal products criteria
- Early-phase studies (Phase IIa and earlier),
- Experimental medicine studies that are nested within later-phase studies and require specialized facilities/staff/equipment.
- Later-phase studies that include high-intensity or high-complexity elements
